I.
Pre Production/ Production
The first phase of the recording process almost always begins with
what is called production. It is as this stage that song writing,
form lyrics and ideas begin to take shape. GNX music can help you

happen during this part of the recording process include tracking
beats, sampling and programming.
II.
Recording and Overdubs
The second phase of the recording process is the actual recoding
of the artist from microphone or instrument to computer. GNX Music

III. Editing
The editing process can begin at many different stages at the recording
process. Often material will be edited while the actual recording
takes place. Other times material will be edited before and during
the mixing process.
Editing and Mixing make the difference between the sound of independent
and major releases. An independent artist might spend 2 hours mixing
there song. A major artist will spend 1 day editing another day
mixing.
The editing process is also used to create show cds and more recently

IV. Mixing
Mixing is the last step your music will take before mastering. In
the mixing process everything comes together. The music, instrumental
or beats are balanced with the vocals. Tracks are equalized, panned
and processed into stereo image that can be played in any Compact
Disc or DAT player. The mix is the final place to make your changes
and bring out the full potential of your music. Your music is only
as good as the mix that people hear.

V. Remixing
After a song or track is complete it will often be remixed. Remixing
replaces most of the original musical elements from a song. Usually
only the vocal is kept from the original track. A remixes can breath
new life into bad production, or create a new market for your music
